Robert (Bob) Walker Settle Jonesborough, TN – Robert Walker Settle, 67, peacefully finished the fight on November 20, 2015.
Born in Dahlgren, Virginia on December 14, 1948, he graduated from King George High School in 1967. Bob graduated from ETSU in 1973 and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. He also received his Master’s of Arts in Organizational Management from Tusculum College in 1998, where he later became an adjunct professor. Many know Bob from his 27.5 years of service at Plus Mark, Inc. in Greeneville, Tennessee. He was active in the community in roles such as volunteer coach, member of the Patient Advisory Council of Mountain States Health Alliance, and former Sunday school teacher, Bob exuded the joy and love of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was Preceded in death by his father, Frank Settle Jr. and mother Margaret Virginia Settle.
His survivors include his wife and best friend, Regina Jeanguenat Settle; two sons, Bryan M. Settle (Michelle Settle) of Rock Hill, SC and Jason G. Nave (JarenNave) of League City, TX; two brothers, Frank Settle III (Mary Salisbury) of Montgomery, TX and Richard H. Settle (Debbie Settle) of Fredericksburg, VA; two grandchildren, Smith Walker Nave and Knox Arden Nave; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Bob’s strong faith, love of people, godly wisdom, and extreme punctuality and organizational skills left impressions on many in the community. As a Patient Advisory Council member and the author of Through the Storm, a cancer survivor’s account of God’s grace and healing and the selfless acts of caretakers, he encouraged both those battling cancer and those ministering to cancer patients and their families.
The family invites friends to celebrate Bob’s life at Calvary Church in Boones Creek on Monday, November 23. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7:00 PM with the Celebration of Life service to begin at 7:00 PM.
