KINGPORT- Betty Joan Cruz, 80, passed away on August 22, 2016 at Holston Manor in Kingsport. Mrs. Cruz owned and operated along with her husband, the Showboat Dinner Theatre for many years. She sang with the Sweet Adelines and also the Jacksonville, Knoxville, and Tri -Cities Choruses. Betty kept her hand busy with different crafts and spent her time between here and St. Augustine Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Hiram Perrin and Grace McRitchie. She is survived by her husband, Nils Cruz; sons, Ronald Webb of Johnson City, Lawrence Webb and wife, Lisa of Knoxville, and Eric Webb of Kingsport; daughter, Catherine McRitchie and her husband, Doran Bullock of Lousiana; step children, Leyla and Adrian Cruz of Johnson City; brother, Ken Perrin and wife, Gail of Michigan; sister, Phyllis Thorne and husband, Maurice of North Carolina; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Benjamin Webb of Knoxville. The family will hold services on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Covenant Church on American Way Drive in Kingsport, TN. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Avalon Hospice and Holston Manor for their wonderful care of Mrs. Cruz.
